With the activity on Self-Care and integrated Security which was carried out simultaneously in the districts of Bethlehem and Salfit, on Monday, December 26, 2022, through the participation of YW4A women, The psychosocial Counseling Center for Women concluded the second year of the “Noon for Change” project. The project consisted of three groups formed by the center since the first year in Bethlehem, Salfit, and An-Najah University.”
The activity aims to enhance the sense of security within young women in addition to developing their security plans and protection mechanisms. Many women and girls attach great importance to those around them for their protection and may neglect their own safety. Therefore, it is important for them to realize the importance of ensuring their own security. The training aims to achieve self-care and security logic and to establish a safe space and a supportive group for each other.
The activity included distributing symbolic gifts to the participating young women as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation for their commitment and efforts to the success of the project’s activities in the past two years.
The YW4A project is a five-year program implemented in Palestine, Egypt, Kenya, and South Sudan, in partnership between the PSCCW and the Young Women’s Christian Association – Palestine. The project aims to enhance and diversify the participation of young women, raise their voices to effectively influence decision-making regarding fair gender laws, policies, standards, and practices, and to address their physical safety and participation.
