“In the framework of the project ‘Protection of the Rights and Dignity of the Palestinian population under occupation in accordance with IHL\IDHR with emphasis on gender equality and children,’ implemented by the Psychosocial Counseling Center for Women (PSCCW), funded by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation through the Association for Cooperation for Peace, PSCCW has completed the planning phase for the implementation of 10 income-generating projects led by women heads of households in the governorates of Bethlehem and Jericho. This initiative stems from the strategic objectives which is considered to be a core value of the center’s work to enhance the economic status of women and reduce poverty rates, particularly in these circumstances witnessing a high increase in poverty rates, consequently leading to the growth of gender-based violence against women and girls.
These projects were selected based on a set of criteria and through a thorough evaluation process conducted in collaboration with the Arab World for Research and Development (ADWAR) and community stakeholders, including local councils or grassroots organizations.
The implementation of these projects will take place at the beginning of March, and we believe that they will significantly contribute to the protection of the ten families and empower their members to access the basic necessities of life.
