From Gaza, Amidst the Rubble… Together, We Build Hope
Since the beginning of the Israeli assault on our people on October 7th, the Psycho-Social Counseling Center for Women has been striving, even if partially, to document the stories and testimonies of women—vivid reflections of the scale of violations perpetrated by the occupying forces against them in Gaza.
At the same time, PSCCW has worked to highlight and support the creativity of resilient women figures who are fighting death and clinging to life through initiatives that showcase their strength and determination during this period of genocide inflicted by our adversaries.
Through the ” Women Capable of Change” project, which aims to strengthen, PSCCW has funded 10 initiatives led by Palestinian women living in displacement camps. These initiatives include:
- Educational Initiatives:
Designed to combat the total destruction of the education system, targeting children from grades 1 through 6.
- Health Initiatives:
Establishment of “Judee Farm Pharmacy Tent,” which provides essential medicines and health services in a well-equipped tent to meet community needs amidst shortages and interruptions in supplies.
- Agricultural Initiatives:
Greenhouse and Poultry Farm Projects aim to enhance food security and provide income opportunities for families under siege and difficult living conditions.
- Food Initiatives:
Establishment of a traditional clay bread oven project producing high-quality bread and pastries with unique flavors that aim to restore a sense of normalcy and taste to daily life.
- “Shayaka Photography” Initiative:
An effort to improve the presentation of clothing and footwear through online platforms, promoting e-commerce in Gaza with professionalism and attractive designs.
- “Futfouta Restaurant” Initiative:
A fast-food initiative providing quick and high-quality meals, contributing to food availability and security for vulnerable communities.
- Beauty Clinic Initiative in Displacement Tents:
A beauty and therapeutic clinic offering services to displaced women to boost their self-confidence amid the harshest of circumstances.
These brave women continue to hold onto their dreams, hoping for a better future for themselves and their families.
This project is being implemented in partnership with the Women’s Psycho-Social Counseling Center and the Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development (PWWSD). The project is part of the Feminist Program for Women’s Economic Rights (FEM PAWER) program, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The program is led by the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation (KTK) in partnership with the Arab Women Organization (AWO) from Jordan, the Collective for Research and Training on Development Action (CRTDA) from Lebanon, and the Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development (PWWSD).
