West Bank – In the wake of the grave escalation of violations and assaults since the October 7, 2023 Israeli aggression, the Psychosocial Counseling Center for Women continues to play a vital role in safeguarding women and children, with particular focus on the most marginalized and at-risk communities
Through the project “ Support Children and Women in the Most Marginalized Areas in the West Bank with Quality Services”, funded by the International Rescue Committee (IRC), the Psychosocial Counseling Center for Women was able to reach more than 300 children during July and August 2025. This was achieved through the implementation of the Team Up methodology, which is designed to provide psychosocial support and help children release emotional distress. The approach, which is based on movement, enables children to cope with stress and psychological pressure.
Despite the ongoing reality of repeated incursions, arrests, forced displacement, home demolitions, and systematic closures and isolation imposed by the occupation and its settlers, PSCCW for Women remains committed to being present at the heart of these communities. By delivering its services directly to children and their families, the Center seeks to strengthen their resilience and ability to withstand such harsh circumstances.
Through its efforts, PSCCW reaffirms that psychosocial support is not a luxury, but rather an urgent humanitarian necessity amid the difficult security and living conditions faced by Palestinians in the West Bank—particularly children, who remain the most vulnerable in this reality.
It is worth noting that the project’s activities are being implemented in Bethlehem Governorate (including the villages of Al-Rashayda, Al-Maniya, Beit Skaria, Al-Obeidiya, and Battir, as well as Aida Camp, Al-Azza Camp, and Dheisheh Camp), in addition to the Old City (H2) area of Hebron Governorate among the areas which are mostly exposed to violations and restrictive measures imposed by the occupation.
