The Psychosocial Counseling Center for Women successfully achieved a training entitled “Self-Care and Integrated Security” for 20 male and female service providers in women’s protection networks in the governorates of: “Jericho, Hebron, and Tubas”, and it was implemented over two days on 26+27/12/2022 at the Oasis Hotel in Jericho.
The importance of the training stems from the PSCCW awareness of the serious obstacles and the many different forms of dangers that women face on a daily basis. Therefore, additional mechanisms of securing and enhancing women safety should be developed. In this context, these trainings further seek to develop women’s security plans and protection mechanisms. It is noticed that women in general five great importance on providing care and safety for those who are around them, meanwhile, they neglect their own safety and self-care. Given this, it is crucial for women to realize the importance of ensuring their own security to ensure the security for those around them. Thus, the workshop aims to achieve women’s ownership of the logic of self-care and the process of security and protection.
The mission of the training also focuses on increasing women’s productivity and improving their performance on the personal, family and professional levels, enabling women to adopt care and protection strategies appropriate to their lives, providing women self-confidence and the ability to accomplish the tasks required effectively. In addition, help them reconnect with their bodies and inner soul so that they can better understand what is going on around them and create a safe space for several individuals to support each other.
⭕️This training comes within the project “Enabling victims and survivors to access protection services and participate in response plans to gender-based violence” implemented in partnership with the UN Women, funded by the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (UN CERF).
