PSCCW successfully concluded the initiative titled “Hands and Stitches for Life,” which targeted 40 women from the Hebron Governorate.

Hebron: The Psychosocial Counseling Center for Women concluded an initiative titled “Hands and Stitches for Life.” The initiative aimed at enhancing women’s skills in handicrafts, specifically embroidery, through a 5-day training with a total of 12 training hours.

The initiative aims to improve the conditions of women by empowering them economically. Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the Israeli military forces deliberately imposed severe and harsh sanctions on the entire West Bank region, manifested through widespread arrests, constant raids, and the separation and isolation of areas within the same regions. This has adversely impacted the economic situation of Palestinian families. Consequently, the initiative targeted 40 women from various areas in the Hebron Governorate. These women are breadwinners for their families, facing challenging economic circumstances and some with disabilities. The goal is to enable them to establish small income-generating projects.

This initiative comes as part of the “Women are able to change” project, implemented in partnership with the Palestinian Working Women Association for Development, within the framework of the Feminist Program for Women’s Economic Rights (FEM PAWER), funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by a coalition of four human rights organizations Women in the Middle East and North Africa region, led by the Swedish Women’s Foundation for Women (KTK) with the Arab Women’s Association (AWO) from Jordan and the Research and Training for Development Action Group (CRTSA) from Lebanon, and the Palestinian Working Women’s Association for Development (PWWSD) from Palestine.
